Maltego focuses on providing dependency and discovery data from open sources and visualizing this information in a graphical format suitable for manual relationship analysis as well as data mining.
Maltego allows the creation of custom graphs, allowing any additional type of information to be presented in addition to the main available object types. The application focuses on analyzing real-world relationships (social networks, OSINT APIs, independent nodes of private data and computer networks) between people, groups, web pages, domains, networks, internet infrastructure and social media affiliations. Maltego extends its data coverage by integrating with various partners. Its data sources include DNS records, whois records, search engines, social networking services, various APIs and metadata.
