Epoptes - computer lab management
Epoptes is an open source computer lab management and monitoring tool. It allows for screen broadcasting and monitoring, remote command execution, message sending, imposing restrictions like screen locking or sound muting the clients and much more!
Possibilities:
✔ view client monitor images;
✔ remote control and execution of commands;
✔ demonstration of the server image on client computers;
✔ sending messages to the client(s);
✔ group client management (shutdown or reboot);
✔ remotely setting restrictions, for example: locking the screen or muting clients;
✔ work both in LTSP installation and without LTSP.

All these things are very useful for a computer science teacher. Without getting up from your seat, you can see everything that’s happening on your students’ computers—who’s doing their work and who’s doing extraneous things. Using remote control, you can help struggling students.
And at the end of the working day, there is no need to go to each computer and turn it off. Everything can be done from your computer. Installation or updating of programs can also be organized centrally.
