Release of Ubuntu DesktopPack 24.04 distribution
The Ubuntu*Pack 24.04 operating system is available for free download, which immediately after installation provides a completely self-sufficient and configured solution with all the necessary software "out of the box", which makes it an ideal system for use both on a home or work computer, and for installation on new computer equipment when it is sold.
The utilities and tools built into Ubuntu*Pack allow for its full implementation with integration into any existing IT environment, including a heterogeneous one, in which other operating systems are already present.
Also, a large selection of pre-installed programs in the system by default makes it convenient to use both in a completely isolated and closed corporate network without the ability to access the Internet, and in an open network with access to the Internet.
Ubuntu*Pack is presented in the form of 10 independent systems with different interfaces: Ubuntu (from Canonical), GNOME, LikeWin (Windows 10 style interface), Budgie, Cinnamon, KDE (Kubuntu), LXqt (Lubuntu), MATE, Unity and Xfce (Xubuntu).
The main differences between Ubuntu*Pack and the original version of Ubuntu are already implemented updates, additional fine-tuning of the system, an expanded driver base to support various equipment, full support for playing/viewing/listening to multimedia files of various formats and additional programs not present in the original version, as well as the ability to run Windows programs.
A short general list of changes:
- The distribution is based on the code base of the Ubuntu 24.04 LTS operating system, which allows for its long-term maintenance and use;
- The system contains all updates up to July 2024;
- All systems have the Ubiquity installer installed (which was previously the main one in version 22.04);
- Firefox browser and Thunderbird email client are unlinked from Snap;
- Support for running programs for the Windows platform is included;
- Full support for Ukrainian, Russian and English languages is installed. Other languages require additional downloading of packages from the Internet;
- Added additional drivers for printers;
- Added support for hardware keys and smart cards: Almaz-1K, Crystal-1, Author, Efit and others;
- Added the ability to log in to the system using a USB drive;
- Full support for multimedia (audio-video) of various formats, and a universal VLC player is also installed;
- Added programs for communications: Signal, Viber and Zoom; for working with graphics: Gimp, Inkscape, XnView; various utilities: Veracrypt, R-Linux, Peazip, Backintime;
and many, many other useful programs and utilities and other changes.

The Ubuntu*Pack 24.04 operating system is available for free download. The size of the installation ISO images allows you to burn them to both USB drives and DVD discs.
Based on Ubuntu*Pack, "Secure Ubuntu*Pack" / UALinux Secured*Pack
