Release of the distribution kit for educational institutions Ubuntu EducationPack 18.04
The distribution is aimed at use in educational institutions of any category from preschool to university and provides a fully customized solution out of the box immediately after installation.
The distribution includes a wide selection of pre-installed educational programs that are successfully used in different countries, covering such topics as: mathematics, astronomy, physics, chemistry, geography, development, programming, electronics, graphics, video, music, multimedia, games for children's development, memory training, language learning.
Teacher-oriented tools for organizing the educational process are also included.
Two editions have been prepared: full (5.3 GB in size) and a stripped-down version with fewer pre-installed programs (4.4 GB in size) intended for recording on DVD media.
Main changes compared to the previous version:
- The Ubuntu EducationPack distribution is built on the basis of Ubuntu*Pack 18.04 with the GNOME LikeWin interface;
- for convenience, includes two versions of LTSP (fifth generation LTSP5 - 5.18.12 and new LTSP 23.01);
- iTalk replaced by Veyon;
- added: vokoscreen, numptyphysics, goldendict, pinta, xournal, google-earth, scratch, fet, qelectrotech, lazarus;
and other smaller changes.
The DVD edition of the distribution does not include: WINE, Lazarus, Tux Paint and LanguageTool.

The distribution is available for free download.
The GNU/Linux-based operating system, like others, requires more and more resources with each new version.
That is why, in order not to leave aside users and educational institutions who during this time have not been able to increase the power of their computer fleet, we are consistently updating EducationPack, which is now based on the version of Ubuntu*Pack 18.04, and accordingly consumes less resources.
But we are moving forward, and work has begun on creating Ubuntu EducationPack 20.04.
